For radiation therapy, we accept all patients, publicly or privately referred.
Medical oncology services at our comprehensive cancer centre at Shenton House in Joondalup are, however, fully private.
We offer an urgent palliative response service. If you require an urgent service, please call the preferred treatment centre and/or speak directly with your preferred consultant in addition to sending through your referral.Direct referrals from GPs and specialists are welcomed.
Referring a patient
To refer a patient, click here to complete the referral form and then fax it to the appropriate treatment centre.
Alternatively, the form can be downloaded by clicking on the referral pad image below.
We also accept referral letters which should be faxed to the relevant treatment location.
Specialist to specialist referrals - where radiation therapy or chemotherapy is indicated
In order to make treatment decisions at the time of consultation, it is essential that we have:
- All relevant consultation and follow-up letters
- Pathology reports
- Operative notes
- Procedure notes
- All X-rays
- X-ray reports (this is especially important for patients been assessed for palliative radiation therapy)
Ideally, we would prefer to have as much information as possible ahead of the first consultation. If this is not possible, please ensure that the patient brings the required information with him/her.
GP to specialist referrals - for further diagnostic work-up and management plans
Please send as much information as possible ahead of the first consultation.
Family, friends and carers
Given the emotionally charged nature of first visits, we recommend that patients come with friends or family members. They may also find it helpful if they are told how to get to our facility, and what to expect on the first visit.
Languages other than English
For patients who may need assistance communicating in English, we have access to interpreter services. Many of our consultants and staff also speak a second language. More information about the languages our doctors speak can be found on their individual biographies here. Please let us know in advance if an interpreter or particular consultant is required for language assistance.
